Der Mehrstufen-Plan sieht zun\u00e4chst die Errichtung einer 36 Hektar gro\u00dfen Plattform im Anschluss an das Terminal T1 vor. Es folgt der Bau eines 717 Meter langen Kais mit 17,5 Metern Wassertiefe. Im Rahmen des Investitions- Projektes werden 7 neue Container-Br\u00fccken und zus\u00e4tzlich 20 automatische schienengebundene RMG-Portalkr\u00e4ne aufgebaut. Die Bauarbeiten werden vom polnischen Baukonzern Budimex und den auf die Vertiefung des Meeresbodens spezialisierten Unternehmen Dredging International NV ausgef\u00fchrt. Die Investition bel\u00e4uft sich auf rund 450 Mio. Euro. Nach dem Ausbau erh\u00f6ht sich die Verladekapazit\u00e4t des Containerhafens um 1,7 Mio. Container auf 4,5 Mio. TEU. Die PSA als Betreiber des Containerhafens geht davon aus, dass mit dem dritten Terminal die Grundlage geschaffen wird, mit den gro\u00dfen Containerhafen wie Rotterdam oder Hamburg in Europa zu konkurrieren und der Danziger Hafen nicht nur den polnischen Markt, sondern die gesamte Region bedient.<\/p>\n<p>Der Containerhafen wurde vor 15 Jahren mit einer Kapazit\u00e4t von damals nur 500 000 TEU er\u00f6ffnet. Mit seinen inzwischen zwei Kais wurden im vergangenen Jahr 2,09 Mio. TEU umgeschlagen. Eigent\u00fcmer ist die PSA International (40 Prozent), die auch den weltgr\u00f6\u00dften Container-Hafen von Singapur betreibt, der IFM Global Infrastructure Fund (30 Prozent) sowie der staatliche Investitionsfonds PFR (30 Prozent).<\/p>\n<p><em>*TEU (twenty-feet equivalent unit)<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Die Abk\u00fcrzung TEU steht f\u00fcr das englische Twenty-Foot Equivalent Unit und meint einen 20-Fu\u00df-Standardcontainer. TEU wird international als standardisierte Einheit zur Z\u00e4hlung dieser genormten ISO-Containern verwendet.
