The year 2025 brings 14 statutory holidays. According to the Act of January 18, 1951, on Public Holidays and its later amendments, these days are exempt from work obligations in Poland. Below is a detailed schedule of holidays and the rules for taking time off for holidays that fall on Saturdays.

On December 6, 2024, the Polish Parliament passed amendments to the act, making Christmas Eve a public holiday. After being signed by President Andrzej Duda, these changes will come into effect starting in 2025.

An important issue is holidays that fall on Saturdays, as employees are entitled to an additional day off.
If a holiday falls on a Saturday, which is typically a non-working day, according to Article 130 § 2 of the Labour Code, employees are entitled to an additional day off. In 2025, this applies to two dates:
The employer is obligated to provide the day off by the end of the settlement period, or in the case of a monthly settlement period, within the same month.
The year 2025 offers many opportunities for rest, and proper planning of public holidays can extend relaxation time. It is important to remember rights and obligations arising from the Labour Code, especially regarding the additional day off for holidays falling on Saturdays. Employers are obligated to provide this time off, which helps maintain a work-life balance.
